  • We will be celbrating our creativity with a grade level dot project during specials class this day. 

 

 

 

September 24:   Reflections Art Night:

  • Please join us at 6:00 PM for a brief PTA meeting followed by an art night.  The students at Rasor are invited to create an original piece of art for the PTA Reflections art contest.  This year's theme is "Let your Imagination Fly".  More detailed information will be sent home in your child's Thursday packet. 

 

September 29-October 20:   Reflections After School Workshops:

  • Tuesday, September 29:  5th Grade

  • Thursday, October 1:   4th Grade

  • Tuesday, October 6:   3rd Grade

  • Tuesday, October 20th: 5th Grade

 

Workshops will be from 3:00-4:00 PM.  Transportaion must be provided and arranged by the student's parent or guardian.  Workshop permission slips will be sent home in the Thursday packet and need to be signed/returned by September 18th.  There is room for 15 students in each workshop.  Students attending will be decided on a first come/first serve basis.

October 4-10:   Citywide Fire Prevention Poster Contest:

  • National Fire Prevention Week

Rasor will be participating in a city wide fire poster contest!  The purpose of this contest is to help children become aware of fire safety practices, to provide motivation for this awareness, and to promote application of these practices in real-life situations.  Posters will be judged; building awards/ribbons will be given and winning students will be enterd at the next citywide level.  Students who win at the citywide level will be recognized in the Citywide Awards Assembly. The fire department will notify winners and their teachers and invite them to the awards ceremony.

  • Monday September 15th: Fire Prevention Poster Contest Fliers will be sent home.  

  • Wednesday October 7:  All Fire Prevention Posters are due to Mrs. Byrd. 

 

 

 

October 15:   Holiday Greeting Card Contest:

Plano ISD is seeking your talent to assist in designing the art work for the district 2015 holiday greeting card to be published in December.  This year's theme is "Remarkable Memories".

 

Entries will be judged by our superintendent, district art coordinator, prominent local artists and other district administrators.  Cash awards will be awarded to finalists.

  • One District Elementary finalist will recieve $50.00 award

  • One overall winner (K-12) will recieve $100.00 award

November/December

November 2: Martin Luthur King Jr. Art Contest: 

Plano ISD invites you to enter in a Martin Luthur King Jr. Art Contest! If you chose to complete an art work at home this year's theme is "Making Our Mark".  Mrs. Byrd will help with the matting and backing.  1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place awards will be given.  And your student's art work will be displayed in the district Cox building. District first place winners will be awarded $50.00.  Please have all entries and permission slip to Mrs. Byrd by November 2nd.

March 22: Youth Art Night Reception:

Tuesday March 22nd is a night for two Rasor Students to SHINE.  Their exeptional art work has been chosen to represent Rasor in the Youth Art Month exhibit. Both students will be awarded a certificate of acheivement at the reception.  Way to GO Rasor Rockets!!
